The Green Industry and Equipment Expo
Warren Sellers and several members of the Sellers team have been working on the Green Industry and Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO) since its inception in 1984. Sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), the Professional LGrounds Management Society (PGMS) and the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET). GIE+EXPO is the industry event for dealers, retailers, distributors and commercial users of outdoor power equipment, lawn & garden and light construction. We handle all aspects of show production including money management, exhibit space sales (over $3 million a year!), attendance promotion, operations, registration, international marketing, decorating, web design, direct mail campaigns, education programming, security, sponsorship sales, concert and event planning and exhibitor services.
GIE+EXPO draws over 20,000 attendees and has 190,000 net square feet of indoor exhibit space plus a unique 19-acre outdoor demonstration park. In recent years we have developed many new features and pavilions to keep GIE+EXPO fresh and to increase the buyer/attendee base. We now invite large landscape professionals, golf course superintendents and general contractors. We have started a new exhibit area for snow and ice equipment, an OEM supplier pavilion, new product showroom, an attachment annex and an equipment obstacle course.
We also develop many fun activities including concerts, receptions, give-a-ways, casino nights, tours, “native to Kentucky” food court, interactive website and Ohio River boat cruises. We currently run seven education tracks that include seminars for dealers and landscape professional plus a golf course pesticide certification clinic, ask the pro series, workshops for snow and ice and “on the exhibit floor” education sessions produced by OPEI.
